Visiting the Puerto Vallarta Zoo is not like visiting zoos in the US or Canada. You get up close and personal with tigers, lions, monkeys and more. It’s an amazing experience to be almost face to face with a lion or see a trainer pet the head of a giant jaguar as it purrs. The Puerto Vallarta Zoo is located in Mismaloya, about 10 km south of downtown.
The gardens showcase flora endemic to Mexico and other exotic plants from around the world. Situated over 20 acres of land, the botanical collection features over 3,000 different species. The visitors center offers spectacular mountain views where you will also find a restaurant. The Vallarta Botanical Gardens in Puerto Vallarta are enhancing the local ecotourism in the region. You can bring your swimsuit along and take a dive into the refreshing and crystal clear river Rio Los Horcones.
Round Trip Transportation 120 USD flat + Entrance fee 11 dls (per person)
In this eco-tour you will get to see the real vegetation and wildlife of Puerto Vallarta including crocodiles and herons peeking through the mangrove. This estuary is highly important to the city since it functions as a lung providing the entire city with clean oxygen. 'El Salado' is an urban coastal body that contains both saltwater and freshwater marshes. The estuary is 169 hectares and is protected by the government for its conservation. Tours are provided by local English-speaking biologist.
